Hands-On Training For Sustainable Livelihoods
At Bougainville Youth in Agriculture (BYIA), we believe youths are the future of agriculture — turning farms into a sustainable, income-generating pathway for living.

VCO Training
Producing high-quality virgin coconut oil — from selecting dry coconut to filtration and bottling, building a sustainable income source for youths and women.

Poultry Management
Raising healthy chickens, preventing disease, and generating income from eggs or meat with cost-effective farming practices..

Earthbag Water Tank
Affordable, eco-friendly water tanks built from earth bags — design, construction, waterproofing, and maintenance for water-scarce areas.

Climate Resilient Crop Management
Sustainable soil use, drought-resistant crops, and pest management to help farmers adapt and secure long-term food security.

Family Farming
Strengthening shared family roles and collaborative decision-making, encouraging gender-inclusive and sustainable farming techniques.

Financial Training
Improving financial literacy through budgeting, saving, and investing — plus basic bookkeeping for small businesses.
WHO WE ARE
We are a local NGO based in Bougainville. Our primary objective is to promote sustainable and innovative agricultural and economic development through empowering youths by encouraging them in various trainings and workshops to enhance their skills and knowledge.
We are now focusing on advocacy and promoting local smart agricultural initiatives — with emphasis on preservation of local knowledge and skills.
